Our Top Three National Parks

In the height of the pandemic everyone was going a little crazy - but we went absolutely insane. One evening Adam and I started discussing how we would celebrate our college graduation. Somewhere between the 2nd and 5th glass of wine we decided to live out of a Honda-CRV and visit as many National Parks as we could in 20 days.

Great Sand Dunes National Park

The itinerary we put together was so loose that I'm not sure any real traveler would even call it one. We scheduled 11 National Parks into just under 3 weeks. The "itinerary" was as follows:

- Gateway Arch

- Great Sand Dunes

- Mesa Verde

- Grand Canyon

- Joshua Tree

- Bryce Canyon

- Canyonlands

- Capitol Reef

- Zion

- Arches

- Black Canyon of the Gunnison

- Rocky Mountains

If you counted, you would notice that we listed 12 parks. Somehow, with a little begging, I was able to convince Adam to take a ~slight~ detour to California. We ended up adding LA, San Diego, and Joshua Tree to our list of stops.

The detour was worth the extra few hours on the road (after driving across the county they all blend together anyway). Joshua tree made its way into our Top Three NP's List and San Diego will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

SO - without further ado, our favorite National Parks from this road trip were:

- Zion

- Grand Canyon

- Joshua Tree.

This trip changed our lives, and our relationship. And to think it all started with a few glasses of wine!

** Before, during, and after our trip we made sure to get checked for COVID-19. We wore masks at all times - except to take photos in areas without other people. Additionally, we made sure to support small business along the way by getting lots of yummy takeout! **
